The new allun album features a 36 page book, a cd and a videoclip. This album is the end result of three years worth of work. Allun were born in the summer of '98 in the squat CSA La Sede in Vigevano (Pavia, Italy), between the rice fields in the Po plain. Being in the gig-managing of this squat, the four girls of the original core (Stefania, Patrizia, Wanda and Katia) decided to form allun. Their approach is pure and lacking in any reference, criterion and intentionality in the improvisation. The visual side is very well thought out, with grandguignolesque disguises and performances before and during the live shows.

Dälek Turntablist, Still (Hsi-Chang Lin) goes solo and unleashes a dark ambient masterpiece that borders on sonic terrorism. Created using only Technics 1200's and an array of effects pedals, Still's REMAINS is not a "turntablist" record in the traditional sense. Drawing from (and adding to) the history of alternative turntable use, REMAINS is an ambient record whose textures at times run side by side with the work of PHILLIP JECK or APHEX TWIN. Two laborious years were put into the 35 minutes that comprise the album. Each track was painstakingly mapped out and played live in the studio. Opening with aggressive noise and evolving into delicate ambience, REMAINS supersedes the preconceived range of the turntable, infusing emotion into an otherwise inhuman instrument.

swann danger is an oakland, california based band that includes andy zevallos on bass, samples, and drum machine and cynthia mansourian on guitars and vocals. this 5 song debut was recorded with dan rathbun at polymorph in oakland (dead and gone, heart of snow, his hero is gone, the vanishing, the phantom limbs). both cynthia and andy were members of the band heart of snow, which put out an ep on GSL before breaking up in early 2002. swann danger is doing pretty much the same thing, just better! slow, dark and claustrophobic songs, somewhat reminiscent of bands like xmal deutschland and mid era siouxsie and the banshees. 5 songs in about 24 minutes. död och dekadens!

"While hardcore rock can be restricted by the taut, angry insularity of it's own logic, and stoner rock can often be too out of it to understand the meaning of the term, London five piece Hey Colossus synthesize the best of both genres. 'Hey Colossus II', the follow up to their mini-album debut 'Hey Colossus Hates You And You And You', doesn't summon up the obliterating void of the blackest Metal (the cover is grey with delicate chalk sketching). Instead, they craft space around their monolithic assault, aiming for the precise balance of mass and space of Shellac or Fugazi.
It's paradoxical that while the heaviest, blackest rock relies on the primal immediacy of the riff, many of it's strongest moments emerge in the most epic symphonic works - notably Sleep's 60 minute 'Jerusalem', more or less constructed from several distinct movements. Similarly, each headlong assault on 'Hey Colossus II' is followed by an intermission of sensuous feedback. The ten minute assault of 'Take It' is a carefully calibrated exercise in electrical overload, where the warm riffage slowly begins to arc and crackle like a pylon in a storm. 'Hey Colossus II's' egalitarian interchanges between three guitarists finally resolve into the long-anticipated Sabbath hammer blows of 'Raise The Flag (This Planet's Ours)'.
Hey Colossus's brand of metal attempts a restrained aggression that, over the length of an album, attains a satisfying architectural symmetry. At their zenith, in the midst of the longform workouts, they come close to touching simultaneous blisspoints of Neu!'s motorik momentum and Bardo Pond's fathomless well of distortion."
